How Does a Bill Become Law?

The life cycle of a bill: Bill is filed → Referred to House/Senate committee → Committee hearing → Committee sends bill to full chamber → first floor vote → second floor vote → House/Senate passage → Process then starts over in other chamber (House/Senate) → Signed by the Governor.

There are 94 bills related to reproductive rights and the life of the mother that are currently being reviewed in the 89th legislative session. Some representatives are pushing for stricter bans and reduced access to reproductive care, while others advocate for expanding legal and medical language to ensure access to necessary care.
